I heard a teacher use this phrase the other day and really liked it. The fact is that if anything good is going to come out of my life, my country and our world then it is up to us to make it happen. We will need to determine what it should look like and design it and build it. We cannot wait for some mystical force to make things happen and then call it destiny. The enemy of our souls, the devil, will hijack such beliefs and bring about his will and blame it on God. Take charge, walk with God and make your life count.
Till later

Schalk,
In Matt 16 vs 15-20 there is an interchange between Jesus and Peter. Jesus says to Peter that God has revealed the truth to him that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus goes on to say that He will build His church on this truth. He also tells the deciples not to tell people that he is the Son, the promised Messiah.
It seems like you and Jesus are not on the same wavelength? You say that it is up to you, yet Jesus declares that He is the one that is building His kingdom, a spiritual one. He is also clearly guiding us all not to focus on earthly things (Matt 6:19-21), but to set our hearts on things in heaven. Please explain your heart in your comment, because it seems very much like you are concerned with the things of this world, not the world that is to come, yet is not here yet (Rom 8:23).
Thanks
Hi Anonymous, thank you for your comment. God placed us on earth and wanted us to live here and express His Kingdom here on earth. We can only live that out if we place our minds on things above, which is His will and His authority. The fact is that it is His will, as expressed throughout the bible that as long as we are on earth we should reflect the beauty and abundance of heaven. It should never be our primary focus as God is a jealous God and will not compete with mammon for attention. Remember, I am in development and in order to develop the poor and needy and those who are not fulfilling their destiny I have to constantly get people to set their sights on God's creative purpose for each life. That purpose is "be fruitful, multiply, have dominion".. the effect of these actions will manifest in the natural no matter where you live.
I hope this clarifies it to you. I am constantly looking at things above, remembering that we are raised with Christ and seated in heavely places, but to rule over the earth as co-ruler with Christ.
In Him
